Today’s post is all about blending runway and street style into a look that’s perfectly you, featuring the unlikely combo of some super comfy Amazon jeans and a couture top by Tyra Hart Designs.
Couture and comfortable casual-wear may seem like they’re on opposing sides of the fashion spectrum, but your humble author heartily disagrees. I wouldn’t consider myself a very high-fashion sort of person in my day-to-day life. (If you’ve ever seen me running out for an afternoon tea or coffee in Midtown, you might’ve noticed that I default to old college T-shirts and workout shorts, when presented with the opportunity).
That being said, I absolutely adore seeing all of the gorgeous creations that talented fashion designers come up with, and when I’m in the mood to be a little more stylishly attention-grabbing… well, why not go for couture?
There’s a lot of joy in finding a piece of artfully-crafted clothing that just speaks to you. It’s even more fortunate when said piece of clothing is the work of a dear friend like Tyra Hart of Tyra Hart Designs, who agrees to let you borrow it! In this case, the Tyra Hart Designs look in question – which is fondly referred to as ‘The General’ – is one that I’ve had my eye on ever since it was first created. Since then, this beautiful flower-adorned top has graced several fashion shows, including Charleston Fashion Week.
Now, if you’re anything like me, your first instinct when you’re at a fashion event might be to think something along the lines of: That’s such a beautiful couture look! But I’m no runway model. Where could I wear it?
The answer? Dress the look down.
And that’s how I ended up in a beautiful, hand-crafted couture top paired with some of my favorite jeans. A little comfort + a little glam… it felt pretty darn fabulous.
“Now, Raine,” you may be thinking, “where is that awesome ivy-covered wall?”
Well, it’s not in Atlanta, friends. You’ll have to drive a few hours south to Downtown Thomasville, Georgia, for that! It’s our very own “City of Roses” – a perfect fit for this rose-adorned top!
If you want to see more of Tyra Hart Designs, make sure to get your ticket for the Haunted Dolls fashion show, coming up on October 4th! General admission is only $20, and a portion of proceeds will benefit the nonprofit House of Dawn. It’s going to be spectacular, and I hope to see you there, Atlanta-area fashionistas!
xoxo,
Raine
