In mid-August, one of my absolute favorite free festivals was back in Piedmont Park- the Piedmont Park Arts Festival. One of the greatest perks of living in such a walkable city, in my opinion, is the amazing amount of free outdoor events happening all the time! (And I love writing about them, too. For example, check out the Atlanta Ice Cream Festival, Yoga on the Square at Colony Square, the Candler Park Fall Festival, or the Big Huge Tiny House Event at Ponce City Market). But I digress…
I visited the Piedmont Park Arts Festival on Sunday. It worked out perfectly, because my visiting parents got to come along! We saw a lot of fantastic artists, including some that I recognized from other festivals! My favorite pieces tend to be those that are very floral-inspired.
Speaking of florals, there are so many beautiful flowers in bloom in the park right now, and it made for a perfect setting for the Piedmont Park Arts Festival this year! I felt right at home in these floral shorts. Let’s face it, flower power is real.
We were lucky enough to be taking our stroll when the amazing Joy Conaway was performing live in the park! Other artists in the musical lineup on Sunday included Norman Frank, Hayley Gray, Linnie & Amy Jo, and the Chip McGuire Band.
Since I can’t go a week without a Blue Donkey Iced Coffee, that was obviously on the menu for the Arts Festival, as well. My mom tried out a raspberry soda from Chillybean Coffee Co. I stole a few sips, and I can report that it was delicious! If you recognize Chillybean’s cute trailer, it’s probably because they were also featured in my Dardanella post!
The weather was perfect for this year’s festival, and it always makes me happy to see so many Atlantans walking around and enjoying Piedmont Park. If you aren’t a local, I highly suggest you add it to your list of places to visit next time you’re #ATLbound!
xoxo,
Raine
